Do not occupy yourself with waiting, waiting for the new normal, waiting for social interaction, waiting to feel better, waiting to engage with purpose and passion again.
NO, pull yourself towards yourself- give yourself some tough love until you are strong, until you can feel that heart beat in your quiet space- welcome and wipe those lonely longing tears and get up from waiting… your WHY is still there, your HOW is different now…
Stop the waiting and engage with what IS, in a new way. Occupy your mind with creative HOW’S- fully engage with behavior that manifest your desire… let it become true in your mind first, if you could see it and feel it once before- you can create it again and again.
Let us be innovative and creative in our approach to adversity- let us be resilient in trails and tribulations- let us bear with this HOW and fully engage a new.
Words from a trauma survivor: “Without realizing it, I fought to keep my two worlds separated. Without ever knowing why, I made sure, whenever possible, that nothing passed between the compartmentalization I had created between the day child and the night child.” —Marilyn Van Derbur (2004, p. 26).
Trauma is not the event, but what is left, in the mind, body system after the traumatic event took place. It’s the flashbacks, the memories, the unconscious triggers or destructive/ unhealthy behaviour. Building a bridge between thew worlds inside us leads to deep emotional healing and freedom.
Without spiritually, psychology cannot really free us or lead us to the deepest truths about ourselves and without psychology, spirituality can lead to grandiosity, delusion, and an attempt to escape from reality.
One cornerstone of transformational soul work is learning to be and stay present…
Presence (awareness, mindfulness), the practice of self-observation (gained from self-knowledge), and understanding what one’s experiences mean (an accurate interpretation provided by a larger context such as a community or spiritual system) are the three basic elements needed for transformational work.
The quiet mind is the source of inner guidance that gives us the ability to perceive reality exactly as it it. It allows us to be receptive to an inner knowing that can guid our actions. But just as we are seldom fully in our bodies or in our hearts, we seldom have access to the quiet, spacious quality of the mind….many flee inwards due to fear aspects of the outside world.
